Arvind Swami’s directorial debut to roll from this year
In the ‘90s, Arvind Swami was a huge star after the back-to-back success of ‘Roja’ and ‘Bombay’ that won over global audience. Arvind Swami later decided to quit acting and made a comeback with ‘Thani Oruvan’ in 2015, which was a runaway hit at the box office.
Now, the ‘Roja’ star is all set to make his directorial debut with an upcoming yet-untitled flick. In a recent interaction, Arvind revealed that he would soon be making his first film, which is expected to go on the floors later this year. The details regarding the official cast and crew of the project are likely to be announced shortly.
Arvind Swami’s recent release ‘Bhaskar Oru Rascal’ opened to mixed responses from the audience. The film is a remake of the Malayalam super hit- ‘Bhaskar The Rascal’ starring Mammootty and Nayanthara in the lead.
On the work front, Arvind Swami awaits the release of the much-awaited crime-thriller ‘Naragasooran’, directed by younger Karthick Naren. The ‘Roja’ star has been roped in to play an important role in Mani Ratnam’s multi-starrer venture ‘Chekka Chivantha Vaanam’, which is one of the big-ticket releases this year. Arvind Swami also has the long-delayed ‘Sathuranga Vettai 2’ under his belt.
